Coach Amit is the MAN! The absolute Goat.
Amit was my volleyball coach when I first started playing beach volleyball. From day 1 he was extremely professional and serious about the important things, but very easy to talk to and connect with. I even went out of my way to make sure he was my indoor volleyball coach during the winter season.
This past year I decided to go to him for college prep help. He knew every single ACT concept I asked about, and also gave me incredibly helpful test taking tips. Amit reminded me of a volleyball focus/warmup technique and showed me how to apply it to the ACT. In just three lessons and self-study, I was able to go from a 32 ACT to a 35 ACT. With this extra focus and a better mindset, I was able to get a perfect 36-36-36 on my reading/writing/science.
Somehow, Amit’s essay help was the most impressive thing about the college prep process. I had already used an essay service and he was very honest about my personal statement:
“This is really good, and you can probably get into UNC with this. However, there are clear issues with pacing and structure. Needs a slight rewrite and clean-up.”
The essay editing sessions with Amit were the most helpful classes of my life. My old editors would edit on their own and send the drafts back to me, but Amit prioritized virtual editing calls where I had to fix and improve my essays in real time. I felt myself becoming a better communicator and editor each minute. Amit goes at a crazy fast pace yet somehow taught me to keep up. He knew what I wanted to say better than I did, but allowed me the freedom to write my own words. The essays were still all my own, just better. The same ideas communicated so much more clearly.
When sending in my final applications and supplemental essays, it was easy to trust that Amit and Vinit knew what each school was looking for. Amit was honest about the schools that would be difficult to get into and gave me confidence that my application for UNC-Chapel Hill (my dream school!) was a strong one. I am so happy I was accepted into both UNC-Chapel Hill and NC State for my chosen major, Computer Science.
Even after the applications and the volleyball seasons were over, Amit made sure to ask about my fitness and grades. He still sends me helpful jumping tips (I am so close to dunking a basketball!!) and insists on me “not getting senioritis” by poking me about senior grades.
Whether it is the ACT, grades, or essays, Coach Amit is the guy you need on your team.
Thank you Goat Academics.
